THE DHARMAPEETHA Dharma Peetha is a Divine centre established by Sri Tathata at the instance of the Divine Will. It is located at Kollur in the Karnataka state of India. The establishment of this great temple is one of the most meaningful events in the history of mankind. The central stone is directly connected to the supreme Source and the cosmic energy radiates from it to the whole world as Dharma. The very presence of Dharma Peetha is capable of rebalancing the rhythm of Nature and inspiring individual souls to understand the true value of life. Dharma Peetha is a lighthouse of everlasting peace, harmony and pure love. Its energy can bring about tremendous changes in our individual, family, social and national lives. Dharma Peetha is an ever shining star of Dharma and the ultimate centre of hope for the new age. Meditating in the energy field of Dharma Peetha is a rare and beautiful experience. The establishment of Dharma Peetha has been one of the invaluable contributions of Sri Tathata to the earth.
COMING TO THE DHARMAPEETHA ASHRAM You are very welcome at any time to Dharma Peetha, Sri Tathata’s main ashram. The Dharma Peetha Temple is one of the major gifts Sri Tathata will leave to the world. Meditating there means receiving a very great Darshan of Divine energy and is a unique experience. The first entry in the Dharma Peetha Temple is a sacred moment: so it is appropriate to bring a special offering. You will get information about this at the ashram itself.
Sri Tathata is of course not always physically present at the Dharma Peetha. The great moments are two times a year when he gives programmes opened to Western people for about 10 days, giving his teachings and initiations to those who ask to receive them.
Apart from these times, your may happen to visit to Kollur just when Sri Tathata is spending some time at the Dharma Peetha ashram (but this will only be due to your good fortune, since His time-table is not advertised before hand).
If this is the case, it will be of course possible for you to meet him; the tradition is to bring a plate with flowers and fruits for the interview, and offer it to him before just as you enter the interview room.
Dharma Peetha as an ashram still has a limited size. It is a very nice and friendly place. Anyone can be accommodated at its guest house. A donation equivalent to the price range of a stay at the neighbouring guest houses is appropriate. As for meals, please make a fair donation. Thank you for respecting the usual ashram codes and uses, as far as clothing, behaviour, schedules, and overall decency even in the rooms of the guest house, are concerned. This is all the more true as the relaxed and friendly atmosphere of the ashram may convey the wrong impression that there are no rules!
The Dharma Peetha is located immediately outside Kollur, in the Udupi district in Karnataka. Kollur is a lively Indian village lying in the settings of majestic volcanic hills covered by jungle. Kollur offers above all an extraordinary spiritual wealth with a thousand-year-old temple of Mokambika dedicated to the three faces of the Divine Mother, the vibration of old times sages as Sri Adi Shankaracharya and now, of course, the Dharma Peetha.
To reach Kollur (Karnataka, Udupi District): the nearest airport is Mangalore. From Mangalore Airport, you may want to go to Kollur by taxi (it will take you about 3 hours, and a little). Otherwise take a taxi to Suratkhal, and from there a bus to Udupi, Kundapura and Kollur.
From Mangalore-city, there are extremely frequent buses to Kundapura via Suratkhal, Mulky and Udupi. From Kundapura to Kollur, there will be about one bus per hour.
You may also want to reach Kundapura by train (on the Mumbai to Mangalore railroad). There is one “passenger train” a day for which no advance booking is requested; it starts from Mangalore at 6.55 am, arrives at Kundapura towards 9.15, (then goes on to Madgaon, Goa);then on its way back (southwards) it leaves from Madgaon, Goa, at about 2pm, and arrives back to Kundapura towards 6 pm (time to be checked). From Kundapura railway station, you may hire a taxi to Kollur, or an autorickshaw to the bus stand then a bus to Kollur.
From Bangalore t Kollur: there is no train, there is one night bus and one day bus. Time of ride is about 12 hours and roads are bad on part of the journey. You can also fly from Bangalore to Mangalore.
HAVE A VERY NICE STAY AT THE DHARMA PEETHA |
